Planning a day trip, short break or family holiday?
From the Helston Railway and the Bodmin & Wenford Railway in Cornwall to the Strathspey Railway at the far north of Scotland, and from the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways in the heart of Snowdonia to the Bure Valley Railway running through rural Norfolk, there is somewhere for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you’re after a relaxing trip through scenic unspoilt countryside or looking for a fact-finding journey of discovery, there’s somewhere for you.
Railways across the UK offer fantastic views in beautiful settings. The Welsh Highland travels through the simply stunning Aberglaslyn Pass as trains travel from Porthmadog to Caernarfon and the West Somerset Railway clings to the coast from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard.
And don’t forget other facilities that railways offer. with many running special dining trains for that Sunday treat or you could book to have a go at driving a steam locomotive. Driver experience courses are available on many heritage lines offering a range of different days to suit your needs.
